Hydrotherapy (Underwater Treadmill)

The hydrotherapy unit (underwater treadmill) at All Pets Animal Hospital and Rehabilitation Center was developed by veterinarians specializing in rehabilitation, working together from around the globe to generate this advanced technology. Our underwater treadmill utilizes the buoyancy of water combined with the advantages of a normal treadmill to deliver fantastic healing results. Being partially submerged in water allows the patient to work out in a low impact environment, and does not require the full weight of the pet to exercise.

The warm water used for the treadmill soothes the pet and puts them at ease prior to the session. Once our compassionate staff starts the motion of the machine, the pet will begin to walk naturally. With the benefit of buoyancy in the water, the muscles and joints experience a low-impact environment, and the pet still experiences the benefit of the exercise. Their motion during the workout can improve muscle tone, flexibility, and improved circulation while decreasing joint pain.

Balance Disk and Peanut Balls

All Pets Animal Hospital and Rehabilitation Center also offers balance disks and peanut balls to improve core conditioning for our canine therapy patients. Our disks and peanut balls aid our veterinarians in increasing core strength, balance, range of motion, and flexibility for our rehabilitation patients. The balance disks and peanut ball therapy are key components in orthopedic and neurologic recovery for pets treated by our veterinary rehabilitation team.

If your pet has experienced an accident or illness that has affected their quality of life, schedule a consultation with one of our caring veterinarians to determine if rehabilitation can help them return to, or partially recover, their former condition. Our veterinarians have helped countless pets in the Asheville, North Carolina area, and they will bring this same level of compassion and care to your pet as well.
