Services

All Pets Animal Hospital is one of only a few full-service practices in Western North Carolina. We list some of our more popular services below. If you require a service that is not listed, please ask and we will do our best to meet the need or help you find someone who can. Remember that compassion is our passion and quality and value our goal.

Advanced Reproductive

All Pets Animal Hospital also provides a complete range of reproductive medicine and consultation, including breeding timing utilizing hormone assay and exfoliative cytology, artificial insemination and assisted natural breeding, diagnosis of sterility in stud dogs, semen collection, and progesterone testing. We also use ultrasound in pregnancy diagnosis, prostate evaluation and general imaging

Boarding

At All Pets, we board dogs and cats in separate facilities.

The climate-controlled dog kennel houses up to 45 animals. It is monitored all day, and each dog is hand-walked twice daily at no extra charge. Dogs are fed Science Diet Adult food and provided with comfortable bedding and food/water bowls.

The cat ward is climate-controlled and designed to be quiet and low-stress, with soothing music played all day and Feliway facial pheromone diffuser used to calm the animals. The facility can house up to 14 cats, who are monitored throughout the day and fed Science Diet Feline Adult food.

Client Education

We provide clients with extensive information on nutrition, preventative healthcare and behavior modification techniques. New pet owners will find a wealth of materials on diet and training, and we provide all clients with treatment-specific handouts and a list of veterinary-approved websites on a variety of subjects.

Dentistry

All veterinarians at All Pets have many continuing education hours in dentistry, with Drs. Heath, Bedsaul and Grant performing some restorative work. Dental prophy are performed by trained technicians, and all technical staff receive continuing education on current dental trends. Once a month, a licensed dentist is in the office and available to perform root canals and other advanced procedures.

Dermatology

Our vets stay current on the newest trends in animal dermatology. Services include allergy testing as well as novel protein and low-allergen diets.

Emergency and Critical Care

Emergency care is offered during regular business hours to established clients. Our experienced staff is equipped to administer the ABCs of basic life support – Airway, Breathing and Circulation. We also use the services of the Regional Emergency Animal Care Hospital (REACH) for after-hour emergencies. They can be reached at (828) 665-4399.

Grooming

Julie Ingle, our certified groomer, is at our office Tuesday-Friday. She offers many years of experience, and her gentle nature naturally puts your pet at ease. For the less cooperative animal, we provide veterinary-supervised grooming with sedation.

Internal Medicine

We place a high value in providing you and your pet with an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan, emphasizing client education about the disease and all realistic treatment options. Our vets stay current on the latest internal treatments and trends including oncology, cardiology, ophthalmology, neurology, dermatology, gastroenterology, endocrinology and more.

Nutrition

The All Pets staff is highly educated on all aspects of small animal, avian and companion animal nutrition for both healthy and compromised pets. We recognize the importance of good nutrition and spend quality time educating you on the best diet to keep your pet as healthy as possible. We offer veterinary-approved diets including Hill’s, Purina CNM, Royal Canin and IVD feline, as well as canine prescription diets and Science Diet maintenance diets.

Special Cases

Our doctors routinely consult with each other about cases. We feel that four heads are better than one, especially if we have a complicated issue to examine. In the best interest of the patient, we will occasionally recommend a specialist — such as a board certified doctor in surgery, dermatology, ophthalmology, behavior or internal medicine. We refer to specialists with whom we have established relationships, and most are within two to three hours’ drive away.

Surgery

All Pets Animal Hospital provides routine and elective surgery, including orthopedics and ear crops, with four registered technicians on staff. All procedures are performed with comprehensive pain management to ensure a more gentle experience for your pet.

Ultrasound

Our practice offers routine and diagnostic ultrasounds, with a licensed ultrasonographer on premises once a month.

Vaccination

We follow the American Veterinary Medical Association vaccination protocol, and each animal is individually assessed for the appropriate vaccines.

X-rays

We utilize digital radiograph transmission for all x-ray services, increasing the speed of the process and allowing for digital transmission and enhancement of files.
